Uponor PE-Xa is suited to many applications. Applications range from plumbing slurry in mining applications to Almond shells used in paste for women’s cosmetics. Afripex has used PEX in ice rink floor slabs and large commercial heating chambers to dry concrete products on a production scale. Food and Medicine is another area that PEX is used extensively. See: General: Wirsbo-cleanPEX leaflet PEX is an extremely clean material which allows its use in blood dialysis. We use PEX for cooling systems in trains and for thyristor cooling. It is the unique properties of PEX-a which makes it such a versatile material. PEX is used extensively for high voltage insulation in cable manufacture and has been installed in drying and heating chambers. The properties that allow itself to be used in such variety include low friction coefficient, low thermal transfer, low electrical conductivity, low mass, joint free lengths and thermal memory which allows it to be shaped, to name but a few. Pex is also used in heating Rugby and football fields to enhance lawn growth, melt snow and prevent frost forming on the lawns. Uponor PE-Xa is resistant to a wide range of industrial chemicals, agents and acids. To list every application would be impossible. Some of the main applications we have been involved in range from plumbing concrete slurry, explosive powder and food fats to highly aggressive acids and chlorine products.

PEX can often replace an existing metallic or polymer pipe and multiply the life span.
